Our Staff

Dr. Bobby Williams
Owner / Lead Veterinarian
Dr Williams is a Texas A&M Aggie through and through, completing his undergraduate studies there in 2001, earning his DVM at the A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004, and following it with obtaining his Master in Business Administration in 2005. He has been practicing in New Braunfels for over 20 years now. After realizing this is where they wanted to settle and raise their family, he and his wife (also a veterinarian), opened Animal Medical Center in 2015.
He met and married Mindy while they were in school together. Mindy has a passion for rescue pets and shelter work, and has spent several years working in shelters as a high volume spay/neuter vet everywhere from Austin down to San Antonio. Together (married for 20 years now), they have shared and grown their passion for caring for all animals, large and small, and raised a few children along the way!
Their 2-legged children are Owen, Sydney, Ethan, and Aubrey. They are often busy attending baseball games, gymnastic meets, and riding and roping lessons for their kids. Their 4-legged children include their 2 rescue dogs, Molly and Dillon, their 2 rescue cats, Penelope and Petunia, several horses and one pony, several cattle, chickens and ducks. The farm and all of their animals keep them entertained and very busy in their down time!
Dr Williams has an affinity for surgery of all kinds, but also enjoys a difficult medical case! He makes sure the hospital stays up with the latest technology, procedures, and medical protocols. When asked about his favorite part of the job, however, he always says it's the lasting relationships he's been able to build with our clients and their pets. We are thankful to be in this community and hope to continue to serve New Braunfels for years to come!

Dr. Amy White
Veterinarian
Dr Amy White joined the Animal Medical Center family in November of 2020. She received her undergraduate degree at UC Davis and earned her Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery from the University of Glasgow, Scotland in 2011. Dr White has been practicing in the San Antonio and New Braunfels area for 10 years in both small animal hospitals as well as an equine only hospital. Her areas of special interest include both surgery and dentistry.
When not at work, she and her husband, Travis, enjoy spending time outdoors with their 3 boys, Colton, Jackson, and Brody. Their love of animals extends to their home, where they care for 2 horses, 4 dogs, and 2 cats. Dr White definitely has a special place in her heart for all
terriers and loves to see all of the scruffy-faced patients at AMC. We have been very impressed with Dr White, her skills, and her level of compassion with all of our patients!

Dr. Tara Barrera
Veterinarian
Originally from the sun-soaked beaches of Southern California, Dr.
Barrera has always had a passion for animals. She earned her
undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Cornell University,
graduating cum laude, before heading back west to complete her
veterinary degree at UC Davis, focusing on large animals.
After a year practicing mixed and cow-calf medicine in Canada (and
realizing she wasn't built for the cold!), Dr. Barrera transitioned to
small animal medicine in 2012—where she met her husband, David, and
soon after, they were married. The couple lived in Southern California
until 2021, when they moved to New Braunfels as part of a church plant
during the pandemic, just after welcoming their fourth (and final!)
child.
Dr. Barrera has been serving the New Braunfels community ever since and
is thrilled to join the team at Animal Medical Center, where she looks
forward to providing compassionate care to both pets and their people.
She and her family love the "big small-town" feel of New Braunfels and
the strong sense of community it offers.
At home, she and David stay busy with their three dogs (a hunting lab
named Penny and two lovable mutts, Carl and Russell), her 16-year-old
vet school cat Marlo, six leopard geckos, a Russian tortoise named
Taters, their chickens (Marlene, Lily, and Lottie), and David's local
quail farm. When she's not at the pet hospital, Dr. Barrera enjoys
traveling, listening to local music in the surrounding area, playing the
piano, and serving at church alongside her lively and loving family.

Dr. Colbi Sanders
Veterinarian
Dr Colbi Sanders has been with Animal Medical Center since its inception, and provides top quality ultrasound services through Vetscan Ultrasound services. She completed her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University in 2007, and continues to be a huge Aggie fan, attending A&M football games with friends and family whenever she can. In 2001, she received her DVM from Oklahoma State University, followed by a one year rotating small animal internship.
While practicing as a veterinarian, she furthered her education even more by obtaining her MBA in 2020. She went on to specialize in veterinary ultrasonography for several years, and is excited to provide her expertise in this area with our AMC clients and patients. She also
is passionate about, and highly skilled in, ophthalmology, cardiology, and surgery.
Dr Sanders has 2 German Shorthaired Pointers, Purdey and Clementine, a kitty named Dragon, and the boss of the household
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr Sanders enjoys baking, traveling, and spending time at the family ranch. She also loves all water activities, including floating the rivers here in New Braunfels and spending time at the lake.
